Stocks reservoir is home to the largest fly fishery in the North West. to go to their website.
There are numerous walks around the area. We have books and maps printed that you are more than welcome to borrow.
Forest of Bowland AONB
The Forest of Bowland is an area of outstanding natural beauty covering 312 square miles. Mainly in Lancashire but some covering Yorkshire too. With an area this vast there is plenty to explore. From its heather moorlands and the rare birds that reside here to the fantastic walks and the dark sky discovery sites. Slaidburn itself has some wonderful shops to offer. We have a very well stocked general store, a florist/gift shop and a handmade chocolate shop. Slightly further afield we have Clitheroe with a good range of independant shops and a good old fashioned market 3 days a week. Skipton also hosts a market well worthy of a visit 4 days a week. Slaidburn Village Hall
We are very lucky to have a wonderful communtity hall and function venue in Slaidburn. The hall has many differently sized rooms to accommodate a number of functions at once or the whole hall is available to hire. It's perfect for a wide variety of events, from weddings and family parties to corporate functions.
